I told them I did not require a statement as I check my account on line. Well the dillbrain on the counter evidently did not change my address completly in his computer. I did not receive any statements but it seems that statements were sent to my old address, redirection not withstanding. The bank also sent my new bank card to that address and someone was happy to receive it, the morons used it. Somehow they cancelled my currant card and used the new one to get tops-ups for a mobile phone. £30 worth and it took me overdrawn. Luckily it was the week before payday.
I had notice money missing but could see where it had gone, I could not remember taking any out at an AMT and it takes a couple of days to show on line. When I saw the charges I had a fit and got in touch with the bank straight away. The girl on the line was really nice and said it was the banks fault and I would be reimbursed for the amount taken and any fees incured due to being overdrawn.
As I did not have telephone banking facilities I had to go to the bank to get faud papers and organize a new card.
The police were not interested as they considered it was fraud against the bank and they would only get involved if asked to by them.
I hope they get the morons

The walls are terrible, full of little holes and one or two large ones that were hidden by the wallpaper. Will also paint the hallway this week. Next week will tackle the kitchen. It's a start. Later today will pot a few bulbs, just to make the backyard a little nicer. Even though I do not like the place, have to make it livable.
Redd has made doggie friends, aah so nice and he enjoys the large garden to charge around in. He is starting to moult, losing his winter coat, as it makes him itchy, he is likeing his brushes each day. Each day we are getting a bag full of hair and can not help thinking he will end up bald but he want. It is amazing how thin he is under all his hair.

We are in a groundfloor flat/apartment. From living in a three storey house we had a lot of clearing out to do. Though we have been in the new place for a month most things are still in boxes. No where to put anything just no cupboard space. We will have to buy the damn things. Every room has to be redecorated. The bathroom is the worst, the wall shave to be replastered first. The previous occupants had started to strip the walls and left it. The painted the kitchen and hall grey...?? One wall in the lounge had black wallpaper the other three walls hey grey patterned wallpaper, which they didn't finish and left bits of wall paper covering sockets and flowing over the skirtingbords. What were they thinking? In one bedroom which is quite large there is pink wallpaper with mice, on top of this they have drawn Donald Duck and some strange female.
I did not like this place from the start but opnly took it because my partner wanted to, it being nearer Glasgow and his mother is two streets away. Personally I would rather been on the other side of the world, back home in Australia. The garden in huge with lots of rubbish.

As for one of my neighbours, well my dog Redd went out into our garden andher three dogs, yes three dogs were in her garden. She sware at Redd because he barked and told him to shut the F up. I looked out my door and she spoke first and in a nasty tone asked "You just moved in with that dog?"
"Yes." I was wary
"Well I am warning you." she snarled "Your dog had better not jump the fence. Stop his barking. My dogs don't bark."
At this point Redd had stopped barking and had lost interest in her dogs.
I went back in my flat, Redd followed me in.
Her dogs do bark and one jumped our fence and was chased out by Redd. She has now put up an ugly fence which I am sure she did not ask permission of the council, no way will they had said yes. I don't care.
Her partner seems to be a nice guy.
Anyway I hate this area.

Took Redd for a walk this afternoon and I got soaked as it was 'bucketing' down. There were rivers running down the roads. I passed one particular house at the bottom of a steep road that has new owners, they moved in earlier this year. The house always had a beautiful display of daffodils in the spring in the small front yard that had a raised small lawn on either side of the pathway. Very pretty really. Well the new owners dug up the lawns or rather dug them out and the daffdils as well. The new owners then laid plastic down and covered it with pebbles. Not so pretty any more. They are now the proud owners of a swiming pool. The garden was flooded and the water was lapping the front porch. A young man was trying to clear the drain in the road but it wasn't block just overwelmed by the volume of water. I have never seen that garden flooded before and I suspect they did not consider drainage when they remodeled their front garden.

I think this could be my last one here. I do not intend dying only returning to Australia. Winter in South Australia can be chilly but no where near as cold...freezing as in Scotland. The other problem is the cost of heating in this damn country. No consideration for the not so well off. The utility companies are greedy bastards, you could freeze to death as far as they are concerned. Their shareholders want big dividends and so the prices are high. I can not afford to have the heating on all day so for awhile I am cold. I put the heating on about 4 or 5p.m. and have it on till about 10p.m. and off it goes. I put it on high just for the first hour to warm up the house and then turn it right down for the rest of the night. I am saving money up for when the freeze really hits in February. Sigh.

A man sprung from nowhere. Millions of dollars backing his campain. He has all the hallmarks of the left behind series.
Personally if I had been an American I would not have voted for him. Then again I am not too fond of McCain either. Would I have voteted? Oh of course as I am an Australian and every Australian is obliged by law to cast a vote, I would therefore have cast one.
What sort of President will Obama make, I watch with interest. I hope his security is top notch. But then if he is the ONE, he will be protected. If that is so...God help the world.

How long will he last if he does get the top job? Is he the guy predicted for the end times? The charismatic guy who destroys the world? If the answer is yes to some of the aformentioned questions then we are in for interesting times.
Then again he could be the saviour of mankind.
Who ever becomes the president of the USA will be a pain for the rest of the world as usual.

I hate the weather. Took Redd out for his midday walk and we came home soaked. I managed to towel dry him somewhat at the front door but he got away from me and ran the the bedroom and jumped on to the bed and then proceeded to rub himself all over the duva. To hell with it, I will just put a clean one on later. Normally he wont get on the bed unless someone is in it and that is usually Tom who has gone out today. Plus I have usually put a large towel or two on the bed but not today. It is the wet weather it is rotting my brain.
Australia is calling me.
I wonder if my brother will pay my fare? Huum not if my sister-in-law has a say in it.

Is it a bad cold/flu? Well as he is a male therefore it is and he is a dying duck. He had been too ill, oh yeah, to even take the dog for a walk.
Now I have the flu, I still have to clean the house; cook meals and walk the dog.
I did get a sleep in this morning but only because Tom felt better and had been up all night on the computer talking to his mates in the States and playing, Americas Army. It was nice to have a sleep in and get up at 11am instead of 7am. And there was my faithful Redd by my bed. I peered down at him and his tail thumped the floor.
I have informed Tom I am not cooking anything today, he can get his own meals.
Today is my day off. But I am going to have to take Redd for his afternoon walk, not that I really mind, as his lordship is fast asleep on the lounge.

He is a different boy to when we got him. Most of all he no longer growls at or bites Tom, such an improvement. Redd gets of furniture when told to rather than growls at Tom. But he is still a little defensive about his stones when bringing them home. He will give just a little growl but it is not a really threatening one, no bared teeth to go with it. We accept that and warn others usually children not to touch his stone even when he drops it as he will snatch it if any tries to take it. He might inadvertently nip them. Yet once the stone is in the house he loses interest in it. We gather all the stones and rocks, sometimes quite large ones, and take them back to the beach and/or the burn.
Redd is still a little bit of a handful, plenty of time to improve.

 Comments

Bored and fed up

I am just so fed up lately, I have a strained the ligament in my knee so walking is a problem, more so when you have a lively dog to take for a walk. I have a knee guard which helps a little bit but there is no fun in walks at this moment. I asked the doctor, not my usual one who is on holiday, how long will it take to heal, and the smart arse said 'how long is a piece of string?'.
My partner is no god darn help and I am fed up to the back teeth with him.
I asked him to help hover the stairs a week ago, 'I'll do it.' he said. Yeah what darn year? I will nag him agin today.
Asked him to put the bin out, a job I always do. Our house is in a lane and so there is no access at the front for the binmen. As the house is also on the side of a hill, the back yard is on three levels and has a steep set of steps leading to the road behind. I heard the binmen, they were at least 40 min early which is why I looked out the window and there still in the garden was the bin.
Anger does give you wings! I got the bin out just as they got to our house. And just as my other half got to the back door, hah the binmen had woken him up and he had rushed out to get the bin. Too dam late mate.
I did not bother cooking dinner that day. I am not going to cook today either, he can get himself a pizza.

On a happier note Redd, our german shep, well his manners are improving. He is much more friendly towards Tom and seldom growls now.

 Comments

Training

Our new German Shep we called Freddie but he want answer to it so we have decided that we will call him Redd which was what his previous owners called him. At least he answers to it. Must admit I do not like the name but if he comes when called that is all that matters.
We have had to put some effort into training him as he is at times a bad boy. He bit Tom on the arm when Tom ruffled his ears. We now realize that there was a problem, the poor boy had an ear infection so it must have hurt him when Tom touched him. We are giviing him the benefit of the doubt. But still a bite was a bit extreme, the snarl he gave first should have warned Tom. Tom went to pat him and thats when Redd bit. We were quite shocked. Oddly Redd then came over to me and sat beside me leaning into me. I patted his side and he lay down.
Redd has never snarled or growled at me. He has growled at Tom a few occations. Redd will even stop barking when I tell him to. He does not want to when Tom tells him to be quiet.
We have had two German Sheps before and they both would do what Tom said and ignored me mostly. So strange to have it the other way round. I wonder why that is.

 Comments

Redd

A new German Shep has entered our lives and his name is Redd. Not a name we chose, his previous owners named him it and as he answers to it we have decided to keep it. Personally I do not care much for the name. Redd is 2 years old and we are his 5th owners, poor love. We got a phone call from a friend who said if we wanted him his owners were getting rid of him. Seems the wife was frightened of him, he had growled at her and on another occasion nipped someone who tried to take his food away. So he had to go.
We have had him a few days, I have been careful with him around his food, to see how he behaves. He has been really well behaved, so I wonder what they did to make him growl or nip. His one flaw which we will work on is his tendency to bark at various things. People walking by, a loud noise or a door closing.
It is so nice to have a dog in the house again but I had not expected to get another one so soon.

This last week it has dawned on me how much of my life revolved around him. I have not left the house since Thursday and that was to take out and bring in the rubbish bin. I have also put on wieght since he has gone, a combination of comfort eating and not getting my regular walks. So I am thinking we may get another dog sooner rather than later.
Except that I want to leave this place. Do I go to Motherwell as my partner wants or do I go home to Australia, which is what I want. My partner will not be coming with me if I go to Australia.
I can not make up my mind as to how I feel.

He could not walk up any steps not even the two at the front door. We took him for a walk out the front at the week end and he fell over every few steps. Over night he deteriated.

Jerry was 13 years old.

I believe it is my neighbour at number 6. My husband and I have never been able to acutually catch the person responsible for the, eggs thrown at our windows on numerous occasions, the stones thrown at the windows, the butter/marg smered on the window by our front door, the door bell being rung and dog poo in our front garden. The loud music is kind of settled. He just turns it up full volume for a minute or two before he leaves his house. We have reported much to the local police and the council.
But yesterday evening the dog poo was definintly dumped in our front yard by him. Tom and I had noticed the dog poo on the grass in the garden of No 6. Well it and climps of grass were deposited in our garden last night. We do not have any grass, only gravel in our fron garden. Tom in anger throw a bit of dog poo at the window of No. 6, he appeard and gave Tom a rude gesture before opening his window. Tom contronted him about the dog poo and he claimed that our dog had done it and he was returning it to us.
We do have a lovely german shep and we do not permit him on the neihbours gardens and we pick up after him.
Tom called the police and reported No 6 and they will speak to the dog warden abouts signs. They did say that Tom should not have thrown the dog poo at No 6's window but they let it go.
Now Tom intends to write a long letter of compaint.
One thing I intend to do is report No 6 for his truck which is unregistered, untaxed for nearly six months now according to the tax disc. It is against Council laws etc to have a vehicle parked on Council property ie the carpark that is not taxed or unroad worthy.
We are waiting for a transfer to another district it can not come soon enough.

When is the right time to put a loved pet to sleep. Jerry Lee our beautiful German Shepherd is finding it harder manage stairs. He has to be helped up them and did does not help him beaing a large and heavy dog. Our house has has been built into the side of a hill and the lounge and kitchen are on the first floor, the bed room being on the ground floor by the front door. Stupid layout. The bath room and second bed room being on the top floor. Jerry never goes up there. But to get the the lounge he has to either struggle up the first flight of stairs. Not much easier coming in the back way as from the road the back garden in built on three steep levels and Jerry Lee has to be helped down them as he falls otherwise. The back door is on the first level of the house by the kitchen.
Walks take much longer as his back legs are not what they were and he is now dragging his toes. You can hear his nails scraping the ground. He is on medication for pain and to help his joints.
Jerry Lee is healthy otherwise. It is so difficult as we do not want ot let him go. But he has to have quality of life. We are thinking at this stage that when he really can not cope with the stairs front or back, then it is time. Maybe three months are most?

Even bad is better than none. I was very concered by what he was reported to have said. No way should Sharia law or any part of it be incorporated into the legal system. This applies to all other religious systems as well.
The Archbishop should be standing for Christianity and ensureing it continuance and not trying to encourage other religions.
Is there any Muslim Cleric encouraging Christian values or laws? Endorsing Chrisianity? I would think not.

Not the cheapest of hobbies but it is great fun. better still I have noticed an improvement, well there had better be, in my photos. I have bought a book, Photography for Dummies, a really useful book. Plus I will be starting an Open Unversity course in photography. Never know may make some money in the long run. I will have to if I want to get a realy good SLR camera.

Have been following the elections in the American Presidential race. Not impressed with McCain, i think he is too old. I do like Hilary Clinton but then I liked Bill. As I am not in America what i think does not matter.
All I can say and hope is that America picks a good one.

Counting calories and watching what I eat is sooo hard. I thought that a bit of help form a self help CD might be of benefit.
I ended up on a site that would help me become wealthy for a cost of $1,999.
Another site for only $50.00 for a book would also help me but they stressed that tithing 10% of my income would make it happen. The tithe going to them as they help spiritually.
Now what do they have to do with losing weight? It seems that the same techniques used to make money can help me lose weight. Interesting!
As I do not have the money in the first place to find out how to make money from my thoughts its back to counting calories.
Yet no harm in meditating on my finances.

My partner has lost his job and our income has really plummeted. So we can not pay the various catalogs etc. One company rang everyday for a week asking if the situation had changed. We have tried explaining that we are on reduced income but hell they do not care they want their money. So we constantly get phone calls.
If only jobs were easy to find here.
if you miss a payment they add on fees and if you don't make the full payment they add on fees. How in hell are we to pay accounts off if they add on more than we can pay in fees? Give us a break for hells sake.

But the suspected cause of it on as reported on Sky news, is terrible in its self. A young women from a Kurdish Sect married a Muslim man. Her family and others from her commity stoned her to death because she did. What barbaric people. Seems the bombings are in retaliation. Then again the death of the women could be a convenent excuse for the carnage.
A bit of love in ones heart is needed by those people. All of them.

She was only seventeen months old. She was hit by a car and I am heart broken at her death. I have cried my eyes out.
My brother would say she was just a pesky moggie but then he does not like cats very much.
Many people will not be able to understand that the death of a beloved cat can hurt so much.
We all love different things and the lose of 'things', for wont of a better word, can bring so much suffering.

The Scottish Nationalist Party, a party that no one wants to form a coalition with. Every single thing they want to get through will be a fight and mostlikely nothing will get done. These Nats want Scotland to be come independent for the rest of the UK.
I did not vote for them. As for Scotland becoming independent. Other countries have done so and not all have been a success. I can no longer give a damn about this country. It can sink in the mire for all I care. I do not intend to live here much longer.

 Comments

Still here

it has been quite some time since I wrote anything. Nothing much has changed in Iraq or other parts of the Middle East.
Boris Yeltzin has died, I quite liked the guy. I hope he is remembered for what he accomplished and not as a drunkard. i would bet that he had a lot to contend with and drinking was his way of coping. At least he died a natural death.
An other Russian died yesterday, a conductor, now that makes two and how things seem to go in three, I expect another 'known' Russian will die. Voice of doom me!

Scotland is gearing up for its elections as well as councillers. Our local ones are a bunch of no-hopers, who boast about being independant. They may be so but that does not make them any good. What we really need is some new 'blood' not ones that have been in for years and have accomplished nothing. Problem is no one new or decent seems to want the job. The local Council is so incompetant and dare I say it not very trustworthy. I know from personal experiance they lie. Some have no problems with lying to your face. Point out to them they are lying and prove it they just smile and say more lies.
It is my opion that every staff memeber of my local Council should be fired and new, honest and decent people put in their stead.
Better still, for me, a move to a totally different area. No I am saving up and going home to Australia, I am just so sick of this country.

A new Saddam in the making or is it just part of their psychie?
Add to that millions of dollars going in to phantom pockets. No surprise there. Are there any really honest ministers in Iraqi? One could say to hell with Iraq but I suspect it will continue to be a thorn in the side of America and the UK until it decends into civil war. And then some.

The world is still turning, Iraq continues on its way to civil war and it looks like Lebanon may join it.
Why on earth can not Syria and Iran mind their own business and let peace reign for a while? Give people a breathing space but they want.

In that it may well make him a martyer to some. Will they cremate his body? (Is that allowed under Islamic law?) Bury it secretly? Where ever he is laid to rest, his followers will flock to it.
The end of 2006 is nearly here and no big disaster as yet.

It is my firm belief that there will be another World War in my life time and this war will be against the Muslims.
Those Labour MP's opposed to making the decision now should think again. Peter Kilfoyle is one who is blinkered, as are Charles Clarke and John Cruddas.

Better to be prepared no matter what than to be caught napping.

The intense pain has mostly gone. The pain killers are still a neccessity, I could not get through a day without them. I still have no strength in my wrist or hand, so it is pretty useless still.
Now the real problem is depression. There are many times I just cry for no real reason and other times after doing my hand and wrist exercises because of the pain. Just another thing to get through.
To day I was struggling with the vaccun cleaner and in a fit of frustration I throw the thing to the floor. My partner snapped at me saying I should cool it as I had frightened our dog. So I yelled back at him that he should tie up one of his hands for a day and see how he would cope.
He stared at me for a moment, then got the vaccum cleaner and vaccumed the sitting room for me. If only he would do it more often but at least he helped to-day.

Our dog is a large German Shep who is scared of the vaccum cleaner anyway. Silly mutt.
